This has been a tremendous year of growth for the PVWC despite the difficult climate. Immigrants and low-wage workers have been under attack, but together we are building a movement to respond. With your support, the Pioneer Valley Workers Center is increasing the power of low-wage workers and immigrants in the streets, kitchens, farms and church basements from Greenfield to Springfield and beyond.

Together, we have:

• Launched a 24-hour emergency Know Your Rights hotline with 12 bilingual volunteers

• Launched the Comité del Centro Obrero Springfield, a new worker committee focused on immigrant justice concerns

• Grown our Northampton Worker Committee, including many new members and youth leaders

• Built a rapid-response network of 2,100 people and 20 congregations to defend the rights of immigrant and low-wage workers

• Trained 650 people as rapid responders, who mobilize to support immigrants as a detention is taking place

• Accompanied 30 individuals & families in detention

• Supported dozens of workers to win justice in cases of wage theft, sexual harassment and retaliation

• Mobilized over 4,000 people to join in public demonstrations, including our most recent action at the Federal Building calling for a Stay of Deportation for Lucio Perez

• Passed a Sanctuary City Resolution in Springfield

• Won passage of the Fair Employment Resolution in Northampton

• Created a Solidarity Fund of $10,000 to support workers and immigrants organizing

• Launched a farmworker survey with UMass Amherst

All of this work and more has been possible in large part thanks to the many ways that people like you have committed to joining the struggle, sharing your time, your talents and your resources. We hope that you will continue to support us in the coming year.
